Inuvik

Miranda Amos is the owner of Tiktaaliq Designs. She is from Sachs Harbour NT and started sewing at 16 with the guidance of. Her mom and sister Bambi. She worked with Sealskin and has now moved on to beading. Now living in Whitehorse, Yukon, she feels blessed to be surrounded by positive influence and inspiration. She pictures herself with a large successful business in the future.

Bambi Amos's Inuvialuktun names are Tagyiluk and Aullagan. Named after both of her parent's mothers, Bambi grew up in Sachs Harbour, Tuk, and Inuvik. Bambi's Traditional Arts is the name of her sewing business. Give her a follow on Facebook and Instagram if you would like to view her work.

Jason Nasogaluak was born in Inuvik NWT and was raised in Sachs Harbour located on Banks Island, and later moved to Tuktoyaktuk. Growing up he hunted with his dad Henry, and uncles David and Joe Nasogaluak. He grew up listening to all kinds of stories from his grand dad Joe, and the elders before him.

Brian was raised in both the Inuvik and Tuktuuyaqtuuq regions. With roots in both worlds, his expression of truth is through his art. Working for the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation, Brian is finding himself passionate about the work through the community.

Sheree is an Inuvialuit multidisciplinary artist from Inuvik, NWT. Mainly draws portraits with skills in painting, sewing, embroidering, beading, sculpting, digital art, photography, video editing, and more. Her focus is bringing her culture into her artwork.

Charity Thrasher Gruben is originally from Tuktoyaktuk and has lived in Inuvik since 2017 after marrying Donald Gruben Jr.

Albert is originally from Tuktoyaktuk and Shirley is originally from Ulukhaktok.

They moved to Inuvik and have been living in the Beaufort Delta since they got married in 1971.

Both elders are currently active in their Inuvaluktun traditional oral history and storytelling.

Willow Allen was born and raised in Inuvik. She moved to pursue a degree in social work at MacEwan university in Edmonton. It was a few weeks later there that she found her signing with a modelling agency. Gailann Raddi is a mother, seamstress and subsistence hunter and harvester from Inuvik, NU. She is dedicated to learning and perfecting her own unique sewing patterns that are not only beautiful but functional as well.
